Henry Archibald Lawson starb im Alter von 55 Jahren am 2. September 1922 in Sydney. Der alkoholkranke Schriftsteller, der oft auf den Straßen Sydneys bettelte, wurde nach seinem Tod mit einem Staatsbegräbnis geehrt. Eine Bibliographie seiner Gedichte und einzelne Beispiele finden sich hier.
